This training aims to share with Chinese teachers how to develop Chinese courses into humanities-based programs that optimize the positioning, development, and support of Chinese studies across the entire school.

The training will focus on the following three parts:

1. Successful experiences of the Chinese program at the University of Virginia, where student enrollment has increased rather than decreased;
2. Development of innovative courses (taking calligraphy and literature/reading courses as examples);
3. The humanistic elements of Chinese classes, specifically including creative teaching activity design, genuine interaction and communication between teachers and students, and successful cases of interschool cooperation.
